Allyson Veile joined the First Amendment Clinic in August 2022. Immediately prior, she was a litigation associate at Ballard Spahr in Washington, D.C. where she represented clients in a range of complex commercial disputes. She also maintained an active pro bono practice, assisting with a FOIA suit and an asylum matter.

Veile graduated from Duke Law School in May 2021 where she was a student attorney with their First Amendment Clinic. She externed at the North Carolina Office of the Solicitor General where she assisted with appellate litigation in a variety of election law, privacy, and First Amendment-related matters. Veile also interned with Earthjustice in Tallahassee, Florida where she worked on environmental litigation.

Veile has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the District of Columbia bar.
