
Clinical Assistant Professor & First Amendment Clinic Director Clare R. Norins presented on two panels at the Association of American Law Schools’ 2024 Conference on Clinical Legal Education in May 2024 in St. Louis.

“Wide Ranging Litigation and Advocacy as Resistance and Resilience in a Law School Clinic,” presented with colleagues from UGA, Harvard, Boston University, and Texas A&M (left), focused on collective advocacy for women subjected to medical abuse and retaliation while in ICE custody at the Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia.
“The Privacy Paradox: Balancing Transparency and Privacy in the Quest for Justice,” presented with fellow First Amendment clinic directors from Arizona State, Washington University, Vanderbilt, and Southern Methodist University (above) explored the presumptive right of public access to court documents and the sometimes conflicting individual privacy interests at stake.
