Ward Evans joined the First Amendment Clinic as the Georgia Journalism Attorney in March 2025. Before joining the Clinic, Ward clerked for Chief Judge Chris Phelps of the Northern Judicial Circuit in Elberton and worked as an associate at Johnson Marlowe LLP in Athens.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2022, where he served on the managing board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law, mediated disputes through the University of Georgia Mediation Clinic, and externed at the legal office of Northeast Georgia Health System.
Ward graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2017 with B.A.’s in History and Political Science.
